Silver Coins: Full Moon $5 Sterling Silver Niobium Coins Up For Grabs
TweetThe Royal Canadian Mint has presented prestigious new Full Moons Silver coins in the Niobium Coin series highlighting the importance of the full moon in the lunar cycle, which ancient Native American tribes followed, to chart out life courses. These are the first $5 Sterling Silver niobium bimetallic Canadian coins and are available as a set of four silver coins in a stylish wooden display case, lined with velvet and an individually numbered certificate of authenticity enclosed within.
The niobium Silver Coins has four coins variously designed obverses using four different colors. The Buck Moon Deer silver proof features the antlered buck deer in yellow, against the backdrop of the rising moon. The other silver coins in the collection have the tribal hunter in orange with the rising moon in the distance, a howling blue wolf with an eerie moon in the sky and pink flowers with the rising moon background. The Full Moon silver coins use pure silver and oxidized niobium for dramatic impact and colorful effect.
The reverse of the niobium silver coin series features a frosted profile image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with the inscriptions Elizabeth II, D G Regina and 2011. The cameo portrait of the Queen was designed by artist Susanna Blunt.
The Full Moon silver coins have a proof finish and are made from pure niobium and .925% fine silver, with interrupted serrations design on the rim of these silver coins. Each coin in the Native American Niobium coin series weighs 8.5 grams, has a $5 face value and the set of four silver coins are priced at $121.95 CAD each.
The niobium silver coin series has a limited mintage of 7,500 and the distribution is limited to 3 per household.
