Ricardo's Restaurant on pace for November reopening

West, 67, who spends his mornings at the historic restaurant, said he looks forward to working again.

"I'm used to working 14 or 15 hours a day. Now there is nothing for me to do,''said West, who worked for Ricardo in various capacities since 1963.

The 27 employees, some of which are on unemployment benefits or have taken temporary jobs will be given the opportunity to return to their former positions in the restaurant, he said.

The accidental fire started when lint caught fire in a dryer vent, April 11, emptied of Ricardo 2112 East Lake Road.

"Where we sit, that's where it started,''West told a reporter as they sat on a new concrete pad where the appointments in restaurant refrigerators and freezers will located.

The fire has spared nothing, but the cinderblock walls.

The destruction included all equipment and furniture. "Just down the salt shaker on the table,''he said.

West even had to run about 30 cases of beer, 100 bottles of liquor and about 10,000 dollars worth of lobster, ribs, shrimp, filet mignon, strip steaks and other foods.

Hardner & Son was awarded the work is estimated that 16 trade with an insurance company and to come up with an amount of money that both sides could agree.

I went on the roof and took off the "rain cover" and there was no lint build up, I dropped a couple of 1/2 oz fishing sinkers in the tube and they came rolling out. I went and purchased a 2nd thermal cut off, while at the parts store I spoke with a couple of appliance repair guys who said it was not the cycling t-stat just as you said, they both said it sounds as though something may be grounded, will be checking for that today, any suggestions? They said to start with the heating element I checked that and it does not appear to be the problem, unless I am testing incorrectly. Thanks again for your help, P.S. I did get one of their cards... Before you start checking everything, replace the thermal cut off, You said you have good air flow comming out of the dryer so leave the vent hose off and dry a load. See what happens. The last one could have been bad to start with. I've seen new parts that were bad right out of the box. It's not very common but it does happen. If the new one works take the first one back for a refund. Thanks again but I am not sure exactly what you mean, the element reads 9 0hms when I connected both leads to both terminals one on each, the element housing beeps but reads 0 when touched with both leads , either element terminal (1 lead), to the heating element housing (1 lead) has no reading and either element terminal (1 lead) to the dryer housing (1 lead) has no reading. I just bought the voltage meter and am still learning how to use it, its digital and reads 1 when I turn it on to 20000 (looks like omega sign). Thanks again but it all seems complicated with limited ability... is that what you meant by ground?
