I apologize to my readers; I hope you will all come back to my site often. If you are a new reader I would like to tell you that there are over 100 posts you can see if you click on the hyperlink at the bottom of this page to see older posts.
I generally write my posts during my half hour lunch break at work each day. This is why I rarely have any new posts on weekends, holidays or while on vacation. Since returning from my vacation last week I have had a horrendous week at work. We have installed new operating systems and trying to catch up with my customers while dealing with the new system has left me rather frazzled. For this reason I have been reticent to post.
On my last post I mentioned that I had been skiing at Apache Lake, my son skied, my wife and son rode the tube, and then our boat broke down. We did not let that ruin our vacation; however, we still enjoyed handing out at the lake, cooking over camp fires, playing Flux, a really fun card game, in our RV. I am glad I had all the time to relax to balance out what lay ahead when I got back to work this week.
Our boat mechanic will fix our boat and we will be back at the lake in July and I will hopefully have some new video and pictures to share with you all then.
We like to go to the lake from Tuesday through Friday. There are relatively few people at the lake during the week, which means more quiet time, and smoother water to ski on. When the weekend crowd pulls in the lake gets a bit crazy. I liked that when I was young and unsaved, but now I prefer not to be around all the insanity. Therefore, we returned home on Friday morning and had the rest of the day to relax.
Waking up Saturday morning my son and I headed to The Racquet Shack. You may remember that we had been demoing various racquets over the last month and we now were ready to purchase a couple. The savings we had on not buying gas for the boat made the timing a bit easier.
We had narrowed our choice down between the Wilson K-Sting and the Head Youtek Speed Lite racquets. It seemed likely that we were either going to get one of each, my son seemed set on the Head, or maybe two Heads. I knew I really liked them, but also felt a lot of control with the Wilson. Because of the uncertainty we decided to take the demos out one more time for an hour at a nearby park.
There were several open courts at Himmel Park, so we took one and started by serving a bucket full of balls (27) with one racquet, then another bucket with the other. While my son hit his two buckets I tried to return as many of the serves as I could with the racquet he was not using. Then I served two buckets to him, switching racquets as he did.
